This allows players to Mod (modify) the game in any way people can think of. It's such an essential addon, a hidden gem, it needs the recognition it deserves. The PC version of Dungeon Defenders has been released with gameplay code and source. If you haven't played Bannerlord, it is a medieval-style action strategy game involving the huge world map of Calradia, several factions inspired by human history, hundreds of Nobles, and an assortment of beautifully created towns, castles, and villages. Then take a break from modding and just try it, experience dungeons like never before (even if you've already used other "darker dungeons" mods).Ĭome back later to endorse or even vote for it. The mod in question is called 'Life in Calradia' by the author OneDrop.

Now do yourself a favor, stop reading and install it. Just don't forget to bring a lantern, enough torches, or lighting spells. Use it in conjunction with a mod that darkens interiors like Enhanced Lights and FX (ELFX) (recommended - replaces just its Hardcore module), Realistic Lighting Overhaul, or any other like that. There are presets for more or less lit dungeons and you can configure if Draugr, Dwarven automatons, vampires etc. If you don't like total darkness, you can adjust it with an in-game book (settings menu). A place to discuss tips and tricks for playing Dungeons 3: an evil protragonist, dungeon building meets RTS game developed by Realmforge Studios. This adds so much to immersion and makes dungeon crawling so much better, I'll never do dungeons without it anymore. So not only do the dungeons start out realistically dark, you can light them up on your way.
There are other mods which darken dungeons, but this one has an additional and unique feature: You can relight candles, torches and fireplaces by simply striking them with your torch or hitting them with a fire spell. So uninhabited areas are really dark, but not the areas where humans would maintain lights. This is similar to fairy soul waypoints (which Simon has confirmed are allowed) since it is not scanning for the secrets but rather displaying a waypoint over a set coordinate.
What it does is twofold: First, it disables all lights in any dungeon unless there's a human NPC nearby. This mod bases the waypoints on a static set of coordinates from a corner of the room a player is in. Dungeons 3 combines dungeon building with real-time strategy elements.
